Promontory Park Campground Description

Promontory Park Campground is located just a few miles outside of Estacada, Oregon and adjacent to the North Fork Reservoir and the Clackamas River. The campground is operated by Portland General Electric and is a popular camping destination for river enthusiasts and lake recreationalists. As an alcohol free campground, Promontory Park is a great place for a family friendly angling getaway.

The campground itself is situated in a well shaded loop and features 42 total sites of which 20 are standard, 4 with electric hookups, 7 Yomes, 6 cabins and 1 picnic shelter. Some of the sites have decent privacy while other don’t offer much. There are electric cooking facilities between many of the sites and potable water as well as flush toilets and showers.

Promontory Park offers plenty of recreational opportunities and is ideal for young campers. Smal Fry Lake, located behind the park, was specifically developed for young anglers to learn the sport. For those looking for more action there is a nearby boat ramp and marina on the North Fork Reservoir which is popular for water skiing and fishing.
