Carter Bridge Campground Description

Carter Bridge Campground is located on the Clackamas River in the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon.  It is a 20 minute drive just east of Estacada on Highway 224 and is a popular destination due to it’s close proximity to the Portland Metropolitan area. The campground is small with just 15 sites, most of which lack any sort of privacy and are situated near the highway. Even so, during the busy season this campground is almost always full and that is perhaps due to its location right on the edge of the Clackamas River.  There are a few walk in sites, however they are very small and can hardly be considered campsites.

In general if you are looking for a more private and quiet camping experience it is probably best to continue up stream to many of the other campgrounds to choose from.
