Pine Rest Campground - Metolius River, Central Oregon

Pine Rest Campground is located on the banks of the famous Metolius River near Camp Sherman, Oregon in the Deschutes National Forest.  The campground offers pristine camping adjacent to arguably one of the most gorgeous rivers in the country. With plenty of recreational activities in the area ranging from fishing, kayaking, biking and hiking, this area is very popular during summer months.

Pine Rest Campground is ideal for tent campers and the campground is small, some of the site require a short walk in and trailers are not permitted.  There is no potable water at this campground so be sure to bring plenty to drink.  Vault toilets are on site and each campsite has a picnic table with fire ring.  There are 7 total campsites here and not much in the way of parking so if you are with a group try to limit the number of vehicles you bring or park some near the entrance by the road.

There is a old shelter at the center of this campground which provides shade during the summer months and shelter during the colder months.  Pine Rest Camgpround is one of the few campgrounds in the area that is open year round.
