Lockaby Campground Description

Lockaby Campground is location on the Clackamas River east of the town of Estacada, Oregon of Highway 224 . The campground sits above the banks of the beautiful Clackamas River and is a popular camping destination for rafters, hikers and anglers.

Lockaby Campground is fairly standard with no real selling points but no real downsides either.  It is located on the river however one must navigate a steep bank to actually reach the shores of the Clackamas.  Lockaby Campground has 30 campsites with potable water available and vault toilets.  Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring.  During the busy season you will find a camp host on site and usually they will have firewood for sale.  There are reservations available at Lockaby Campground however there are also a fair amount of first come first serve sites.

Nearby attractions include river rafting, white water kayaking, hiking the Clackamas River Trail, fishing and simply enjoying the beauty of the Clackamas River.  The closest store is in Estacada about 25 mins away however there is also a camp store at the nearby Ripplebrook Ranger Station.

Overall Lockaby Campground is not our favorite campground in the Clackamas River area however when all others are full it will do for a night or two.  Some of the sites are going to be much better than others and you cannot beat the overall beauty of the Clackamas River.
