Link Creek Campground Description

Link Creek Campground is located on the SW shore of Suttle Lake in Central Oregon just outside of the city of Sisters.  Within the campground you will find vault toilets, potable water, a boat ramp, nearby lake trail, mountain biking, boating and lakeside beach access.  Link Creek campground is a perfect overnight spot for those enjoying the waters of Suttle Lake or recreating at one of the many nearby attractions.

The campground has 34 campsites that are suitable for tent, RV and yurt campers alike. You will find potable water spigots dispersed throughout the campground and the toilets are vaulted.  Sites 31, 32 and 34 are setup for Yurt campers only.  The road through the campground is rather narrow and may prove challenging for larger RVs or trailers.  The campsites are varied with some right in front of the lake with fantastic views while others are set back on the hillside with a short walk to the lake.  There is a boat launch within the campground and another launch with a dock less than a quarter mile down the road with ample parking for day use.

Link Creek campground is a very nice spot to spend the night near the shores of Suttle Lake.  In general, the campground is quiet with a little noise coming from Highway 20 primarily from trucks using compression braking.  You will find a mix of campers here from large RVs with generators to minimalist tent campers.

What we like About Link Creek Campground

  • Proximity to Suttle Lake – fantastic lakeshore access for boating and swimming
  • Large campsites that are fairly spread out
  • TONS of nearby recreation from boating to mountain biking
  • Nearby Suttle Lake Lodge

What wasn’t so great

  • The afternoon lakeshore shade makes it a little chilly later in the day
  • Depending on the time of year you visit the waters of Suttle Lake can be frigid
  • Lots of ground squirrels will get into your food if you are not careful
  • Mild noise from the nearby highway
  • Not much privacy between campsites

This is a great campground with several exceptional sites. It sits on the western end of Suttle Lake and is perfect for water recreation as there is a nearby boat ramp. Would definitely camp here again.
