Elk Creek Campground Description

Elk Creek Campground is located at the junction of Elk Creek and the larger Wilson River in the Tillamook Forest.  It is about 30 miles west of Forest Grove and sits 300 yards off of Highway 6.  This small campground is well shaded with a heavy canopy of forest growth and sits nicely on the edge of Elk Creek.  The Wilson River is a quick little walk down a steep embankment and is a popular place for fishermen.  Nearby you can find plenty of hiking and King’s Mountain and Elk Mountain trailheads are a stone’s throw from the campground.  Overall this is a nice little campground not far from Portland.

  1. Haven’t visited this campground yet but from other descriptions it appears that all sites are walk-in, i.e., you can’t park your vehicle right next to your campsite. This is relevant to those who sleep in their trucks.

  2. Price needs updated, 2016 it was 10.00 per nite, 3 tents max per site, 5.00 for each Xtra vehicle if any. Is 2017 Same? We will see.

  3. There is one site you can park right in front of as its right on the edge of the parking area, there are a couple other sites you can park very close to, keep in mind the sites fill fast, I believe there is one site cady corner across the hwy as well that you have to drive into, I’ve been camping here since 1983
