Stub Stewart State Park is locate roughly 30 minutes to the West of the Portland Metro area and is often thought of as the playground in Portland’s backyard. This relatively new park was opened in 2007 and at the time was the first new full-service state park to open in Oregon since 1972. Some of the activities at the park include disc golf, hiking, horseback riding, camping (RV & Tent), cabins, bicycle riding, picnicking and more. With over 20 miles worth of trails it is no surprise that Stub Stewart State Park is has become very popular since it’s opening.
The park is also great for a short day trip due to its close location to the greater Portland area. There is a 18 hole disc golf course and if you do not have your own discs you can rent them upon arrival. The park is open year round and features a total of 78 camping sites .
