Lazy Bend Campground, Clackamas River, Oregon

The Lazy Bend campground on the Clackamas River suffered major damage during the 2020 Riverside Fire and as of 2026 still has not recovered.  The campground is officially closed until repairs can be made by the Forest Service.  The fire dramatically changed the landscape of Lazy Bend as well as many other campgrounds in the area.  Privacy at these campgrounds is no longer a thing due to the lack of trees and the area now tends to get very windy. In the summer expect little shade and high temps. When the forest service does get around to making repairs expect the campground layout to change and site numbers to vary.

Lazy Bend campground is one of the “closest in” campgrounds up the Clackamas river as it is a quick 15 minute drive or so from Estacada. Located just past the North Fork Reservoir, this small campground set about 100 yards back from the banks of the Clackamas River and is a popular destination for campers looking to do some boating during the day. Though it is not the nicest campground up the Clackamas River, it is convenient in location and thus fills up relatively quickly on busy weekends. Campsites 14 through 21 are all walk in sites with a main parking area.
