Riverside Campground - Santiam River, Oregon

Riverside Campground on the Santiam River is located just off highway 22 roughly 14 miles east of Detroit, Oregon.  The campground hosts 38 campsites, has drinking water, vault toilets and as the name suggests is next to the Santiam River. Overnight fees start at $16 per night and campsites can be reserved ahead of time on the recreation.gov website.

The campground is nestled between highway 22 and the Santiam River and as you enter the area the road splits both right and left with camping loops at both ends.  Many of the campsites are on the rivers edge with the other half on the highway side of the campground.  Expect to hear road noise when camping here even with the running water attempting to drown it out in the background.

Riverside campground on the Santiam river is a popular area for those looking to access nearby hiking trails and stay adjacent to the Jefferson Wilderness area.  Detroit lake is also nearby as well as the Marion Forks fish Hatchery.

Overall Riverside campground is a decent campground and a good option for those looking to get away from the crazy hustle and bustle that exists down the road at Detroit Lake.  The campground is not going to provide much solitude due to the nearby road but it is still a decent spot for an overnight excursion.
