Raab Campground Description

Raab is going through some new changes that might really throw some regulars off.  They have changed the entire format and consolidated the sites to make 6 large group sites.  This is a new format of campground that the forest service is trying out and they are opening up Raab to group sites in the wake of the group sites at Indian Henry closing.

Raab Campground is located on the Collawash River just a few miles up from where it fees into the Clackamas River.  While there are few campsites that are actually on the river, there is great access to a rocky beach from a trail near the second loop.   Raab Campground does not have drinking water so be sure to bring plenty of water as the nearest location to fill up is about 2 miles down the road at Riverside Campground.  Depending on the time of year, Raab can be nearly vacant or completely full.  Raab is a great campground for those who don’t mind having to walk for river access.

  1. They made this a group campground, however, they didn’t rearrange any of the sites, so the Group area we reserved (B) was actually 4 separate sites. Not a problem for our group, but others may not like it. There is an awesome swimming hole behind site B. We really enjoyed our time here.
