Carter Lake Campground Description

Carter Lake Campground on the Oregon Coast has 23 campsites and great access to the Oregon dunes and beach.  The campground is located on the small Carter Lake with some of the sites providing lake shore camping and others just a short walk from the water.  A trailhead providing access to the beach is located in the campground.

Carter Lake campground costs roughly $20 per night to stay at, has flushing toilets, potable water and a camp host on site.  The campground is typically open from May to October but be sure to check the forest service website for updates or changes.

The campground itself is a loop style drive through with about a quarter of the sites actually on the lake front though there is a steep bank at spots making water access really only feasible at the day use area.  There is a small beach that can get crowded on busy warmer days.

Overall this a nice little campground nestled inland from the ocean to protect it from the elements.  Flushing toilets and the nearby lake give this campground some bonus point even though some of the sites are small and cramped.
