Smokey Creek Campground Description

Smokey Creek Campground is not a campground at all but rather a deteriorating old camping area off the side of Twin Buttes Road or National Forest Road 24 (NF-24).  It is located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest near Mt. Adams.

The “campground” is actually hard to find as there is no sign for it and when you do finally locate it you will see that it has long since been abandoned and is not maintained at all.  This is more of a dispersed camping area.  If you are looking for an actual campground it is probaby better to proceed further up NF-24 to Cultus Creek Campground.
