Oklahoma Campground Description

Oklahoma Campground is located deep in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest about 20 miles from White River. It is remote and quiet, on flat land with no views. The forest is quite attractive and campsites are spread out, with no feeling of crowding. Tent sites are flat and ample and firewood is in good supply. The Monte Carlo trailhead is across the access road from the campground, offering a pleasant hike up the ridge. Piped water and vault toilets. Fire rings. The site is very quiet and remote, but offers little in terms of recreation. You basically come here to get away.

  1. Skip this one. Mossy Creek is a little better. The “river” is about 3 feet wide, the camp is pretty much a dirt patch. Goose lake, and Forlorn lakes are better choices, but very popular…there is a reason why Oklahoma camp is empty while the others are full.
