Indian Henry Campground - Clackamas River

Indian Henry Campground is very popular due to its close proximity to the Portland metropolitan area and its large number of camp sites (91). The campground is located next to the Clackamas river just east of Estacada, Oregon and is a favorite for anglers, hikers and swimmers.

Currently (as of 2015) Indian Henry Campground is having some problems with dangerous trees and depending on the time of your visit different parts of the camp may be closed off.  The forest service is working to remove the trees but it is taking the better part of a decade at this point.

The campground is large and some sites are near the river while others are nestled far up the hill away from the water.  Like most large campgrounds you will find many sites lacking in privacy with others being very private.  It just depends on what is available upon your arrival.

Across from the Indian Henry Campground is the trail head for the Clackamas River Trail and there is plenty of swimming and fishing nearby.  Overall Indian Henry is a great campground for a quick getaway but it tends to fill up early on the weekends and can get very loud due to large crowds.
